3 years of C.A. and Thank You all...

Its been 3 years of becoming Chartered Accountant and I am so glad and satisfied with the progress which took place in these years. I still remember the reaction on seeing the magical alphabets of the result, “PASS”. Instantaneously, I screamed as loud as possible. My parents came running to see what happened to me. Truly speaking, the scream was more of relief than being happy in first shot.

Being Chartered Accountant is a dream come true of my life. During my school days itself, I targeted  of being Chartered Accountant. I still remember, when I was in 8th Standard, I told my father of me want to become C.A. Of course, the path of being Chartered Accountant was not walk in park, and it can been understood my each and every CA aspirant. Lots and lots of studies, dedication and faith in oneself is required.

While studying, I used to imagine the things which I would do after being Chartered Accountant, especially while giving Finals exam. And, now its been 3 years of me being tagged as CA Niraj Pandit. Each and every person in these words has ups and downs in his / her life, and I am no exception in these case. But it is on oneself, how he achieves his / her goals. On completion of 3 years, I can say, till date I have achieved most of my goals which I wanted to achieve in first 5 years of this lovely career.

I would like to thank all of my relatives, buddies and all of them, who has been part of my life and helped me in achieving all of my achievements. I would like to point out one interesting fact of my life. Coincidentally,  I have been to 3 schools, 3 colleges, 3 hostels and 3 cities (other than my own Morbi), which have been core institutions to reach over here.

Its has been fruitful journey till date and would carry on the same in future.

Top Ups

When we hear the word 'Top Up', it gives us a sense of enjoyment in our mind. We feel, we got bit more than we expected.

In current times, we hear the wordTop Up from telecom companies, while recharging. But here, we are talking about different Top Up than that of telecoms. These days we hear lots and lots of incidents on bribe given / taken which is nothing but Top Up of money over and above what is earned by oneself.

The Top Up, which is talked over here is smaller in nature which is commited in day to day activties. These are not the big ones, or else it can be emphasised as "RECHARGES" also  widely known as 'Scams'.

We have heard many stories in our childhood days about king getting pleased by the work done by his disciple and in return he gives something in favor, irrespective of being monetary or non-monetary. The king will sense a feeling of satisfaction of being the king by giving the favor. But the intention of the king in giving an additional favor was different. The favor was not asked by the disciple but given by the king. Hence it cannot be termed as Top Up.

Similar example in the modern age is of the tip given to the waiter working in restaurant. Tip is not asked by the waiter but given by the customer. In this case, customer will sense a satisfaction of being pleased by the service of the waiter. But this analogy has been changed lately, the customer gives tip to the waiter not because he is pleased but to impress others who have joined them for the food. In one of my personal experience, while discussing about the tip to the waiter, one of my friend commented that "In corporate world, generally tip is given @ 5% of the bill value". This comment didn't satisfied by thinking / reasoning. But again, this depends on own's perspective.

In the current world, 'Top Up' can be precisely described as an additional favor asked for getting work completed, even though it is a part of the job. In case of Top Up, giver is more guilty than the taker. It is simply because it is due to the giver, from whom taker gets confidence to ask for additional favor.

Here, I would like to quote an real life experience, which was experienced by one of my friend. My friend's house documents were with government authorties and he had to release those documents by paying stamp duty plus interest on the same for several years. I was helping him to get it done. While looking out for the procedure to release those documents, we came across one of the government person, who told us that he will release the paper if he is being given certain amount of money. The amount he asked for, was half the amount what my friend had to pay. Instead paying him, we understood the whole procedure and went according to the procedure. While understanding the procedure, we learnt that there was a scheme floated by government where interest was waived off. And guess what, according to scheme floated, my friend end up paying only the stamp duty, which was 20% of the initial amount which he was thinking of. However, it took one and half months to get the papers.

The bottom line of the above example is that the government person who asked him half the amount; wanted the Top Up, even though it was within the purview of the job. May be he would have taken the lesser time but "I would strongly suggest, not to go for Top Ups", as one cannot get the benefit, if there is any. But, most importantly, it will help to get rid of the 'Top Up'.

We, as individual, should avoid giving additional favor just to get things done without slogging for it. In the above examples, we were not hurting feelings of anybody but there are several situations, where due to Top Ups, we would hurt somebody else.

55% required for CA Examination from May 2015 - Clarification

It has been notified by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India via Notification dated 5th July 2013 that the passing percentage in all CA Examinations, i.e. CPT, PCA & FINAL, will be remain as it is to 50% aggregate and 40% in individual subject w.e.f. May 2015 examinations. There will be no change in the passing criteria.

The notification was published following the rumor about change in passing criteria to 55% aggregate and 45% in individual subject.

Eventually one of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the King. It was a fantastic picture and surprised everyone..

Inspiration Medicine

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written:

"Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym".

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.

The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room.

The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: "Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!".

One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul.

There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself.

There was also a sign next to the mirror that said:

"There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU.

You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself.

RETIREMENT AGE OF MINISTERS IN POLITICS

Hi Friends, I am grateful to few of my friends who criticize my views on the topics because it gives me immense pleasure to put forward my view more convincingly. Also, thank you to all my friends who appreciated my views on the topics. I know it took long time to present this article in relation to my other four articles which were presented in less than two months. I had few other obligations on my head which were to be completed; hence I was not able to spare time. However, I promise to present many more articles from now onwards.

With respect to my previous article, “Petrol / Diesel Bizzare”, I would like to update you that Government will make their call on privatizing the rates of the petrol. And please this is not at all because of my blogs, it’s just for your knowledge. Also with respect to my article, “Quota’s System”, I would like to inform you that after the acceptance of Women’s Quota in Legislative, few of the politician are asking for Sub-Quota’s (i.e. Quota in Quota) for SC/ST, BCT, etc. with respect to Women’s Quota. However, the hilarious part of this information is that the politicians who are demanding for Sub-Quota are none other than those people who initially opposed the Women’s Quota in the Legislative. What a contradiction of views by those politician or May be these all acts are for increasing their Vote Bank for the proposed Election…??? Friends, these updations are not vague; I have proof for the same.

Ok.... Friends, now back to this article, this time I would like put forward my one of the views in relation to politics, i.e., Retirement Age of Ministers in Politics. Friends we all know that general retirement age in India is 65 years. For example, the retirement age for Government Job of 65 years. Also, under the Income Tax Act, 1961, the person above 65 years is treated as Senior citizen, whom additional benefits are given with respect to tax payment. But, my friends have you ever thought about the retirement age in case of ministry? Mr. L. K. Advani whose age is 82 years, still wants to become Prime Minister of India. Also, Mr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, although, he proved himself as capable and good Prime Minister, is in his 70’s with respect to age (Age – 74 years). Another example is Mr. Karunanidhi, whose age is 85 years; he is still Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

I am not denying that they are not good in their job. They are very good players of their game and have done lot of good things for the development of India and their respective States. “India is a democratic country and Each and Every Person in India has a right to participate in the development of the country”, we are been taught since our school days. I am not restricting the rights of senior citizen from participation in development of the country. I am of the view that their role in development of India should bit different. They should guide Young players by sharing their experience, which will help in many ways. One of the biggest advantages will be that they will produce new generation of politics.

But don’t you think that it makes lot of sense that at least there should be Bar of Limitation with respect to age in the Legislative for the Minister. The person who is in 80’s requires more medical attention than that is required in normal life of the human. Ya, always there are few exceptional cases. Also in certain cases they are not allowed to travel, which the job of ministers requires a lot. How could you expect that person would run whole India or respective State with respect to Economy, Social, Political and other fronts, where there is day to day requirement with respect to different activities in ministry? I feel this is the biggest question to be answered by the ministers.

I know some of the questions and reasoning could be vague. But at the end, I am just producing my views to you all. So that at least you can help me out to make proper reasoning. And most importantly, it will help you to make your stand clear, for the subject matter of the blog.

INDIAN NATIONAL FLAG

Hi Friends, after an overwhelming response of my previous three articles, it’s my pleasure to be back with another article. This time, I would like to spread little bit of social awareness. As far as response towards my previous articles is concerned, I am pleased to hear that many of you discussed your views on the topics. I am also highly obliged by some of you, who appreciated my writing skill. Still I consider myself as an amateur writer and I want you, my friends to help me out to improve it. However, always remember my priority would always be your views on the topic.

Now, let’s get back to these article, I am producing in front of you. Recently, we all celebrated Republic Day and many of us hoisted Indian Flag in our respective places as a part of celebration. I also celebrate the national occasion with my hostel mates in our hostel. In fact, it was the first function organized and celebrated in our hostel by the students and I must say it rocked. When the function was over, I thought about the flag we hoisted, what should be done about the flag? I tried to discuss with some of my friends in the hostel but still it made me think what are the different ways, a flag can be displayed, handled or disposed off as per our Constitution laid down in India. So to find out my answer, I searched out a lot and found very interesting and various facts of our flag, which, may be most of us don’t know?

NATIONAL FLAG
National flag of India, the Tiranga is the significance of the nationality and unity. The national flag of India was designed by Mr. Pingali Venkayya. It shows our freedom over British rule. It also signifies the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. The national flag of India was adopted in 22nd July 1947 by the India's Constituent Assembly. The size of India flag size is 2:3 in ratio with three colors. The motive of the national flag of India is to bring the whole country together.

As usual, I am starting with my first question;

Do you know Mr. Pingali Venkayya?
We feel proud when we fly the Tiranga, but how many people knows about Mr. Pingali Venkayya. I guess none of us. Generally, we know which actor has worked in the latest movie or who scored century in the cricket match. But we don’t know who has contributed in developing India till date. I am not pointing out anyone of my friends, but I am talking about the young generation of our nation including all of us.

Mr. Pingali Venkayya is the man who has given us the national flag of India. He was born in 2nd August 1876 in Hanumantharayudu and Venkataratnamma at Bhatlapennumaru in the Divi Taluka in Krishna district.

Mr. Pingali was the great lover of our country and, he impresses his thinking through the national flag. It has been found that the Mr. Pingali had collected thirty flags from different nation for designing the India flag; this shows the great effort of Mr. Pingali. Thanks and salute to Mr. Pingali, who designed the Tiranga.

MEANING OF THE INDIA NATIONAL FLAG
India Flag is not only a symbol of freedom for we peoples, but it is also a symbol of freedom for all over the world. The tricolor India flag is not only a combination of three colors, but also a combination of culture, significance of unity, and shows the tradition of India.

Friends, it’s my pleasure to present you the specific meaning of the flag's color and chakra. They represent the complete India.

The meaning of saffron color is the power and unity for serve the society. The white color shows truth and simplicity of country. And the green color tells culture and charms of the nation. And most importantly, the chakra shows to working power and energy of the people. The chakra also intends to show that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.

CERTAIN LAW'S FOR THE FLAG
There are certain laws to use of national flag such as the flag should be treated with "dignity, loyalty and respect". According to the Flag Act 1950, the flag should never touch earth and water. It should not be used as a general purpose cloth, cornerstone etc.

Until 2005, it was stipulated the flag could not be used in clothing, uniform or costume. But in 2005, the Government of India amended the code, allowing the use of flag as clothing and uniform. It however cannot be used as clothing below the waist or as undergarments. It is also prohibited to decorate the national flag and other symbols onto pillowcases or neckerchiefs.

The National Flag may be hoisted in educational institutions to inspire respect for the Flag. An oath of allegiance, i.e, loyalty has been included in the flag hoisting in schools. A member of public, a private organization or an educational institution may hoist/display the National Flag on all days and occasions, ceremonial or otherwise consistent with the dignity and honour of the National Flag.

Apart from non-statutory instructions issued by the Government from time to time, display of the National Flag is governed by the provisions of the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 (No. 12 of 1950) and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 (No. 69 of 1971). One of the significant provision related to the national flag is the Flag Code of India

The Flag Code of India was introduced is the year 2002. The Flag Code of India, 2002 is an attempt to bring together all such laws, conventions, practices and instructions for the guidance and benefit of all concerned. This Code took effect from 26th January 2002 and superseded the 'Flag Code-India’s as it existed. As per the provisions of the Flag Code of India, 2002, there are no restriction on the display of the National Flag by members of general public, private organizations, educational institutions, etc., except to the extent provided in the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and any other law enacted on the subject.

Friends, another interesting fact, which I would like to present in front of you is that we all know about our National Flag being hoisted in Red Fort, Delhi during Independence Day and Republic Day. But, did you know that the India Flag is to be hosted at Red Fort by the Prime Minister of India on Independence Day and by President of India at Republic Day. Now, that’s little bit interesting, and to be frank enough, even I didn’t knew this interesting little fact before!!!

INDIA NATIONAL FLAG - HANDLING OF THE INDIA FLAG
There are a number of traditional rules of respect of handling or displaying the flag. For example, when out in the open, the flag should always be hoisted at sunrise, and lowered at sunset, irrespective of the weather conditions. The flag may be also flown on a public building at night under special circumstances.

The flag should never be depicted, displayed or flown upside down. It is also insulting to display the flag in a frayed or dirty state. The same rule applies to the flagpoles and halyards used to hoist the flag, which should always be in a proper state of maintenance.

CORRECT DISPLAY OF INDIA FLAG
There are different rules in our constitution as well as in the Flag Code of India, 2002, stipulating the ways of displaying our very own National Flag. I would like to describe few of them in front of you, such as;

When it is displayed in a straight line with flags of other countries, the National Flag shall be on the extreme right; i.e. if an observer were to stand in the center of the row of the flags facing the audience, the National Flag should be to his extreme right. The position is illustrated in the diagram below:-


When the National Flag is displayed against a wall with another flag from crossed staffs, the National Flag shall be on the right i.e. the Flag’s own right, and its staff shall be in front of the staff of the other flag. The position is illustrated in the diagram below:-


INDIA NATIONAL FLAG - DISPOSAL
When no longer in a fit condition to be used, a flag should be disposed of in a dignified manner, preferably by burning or ground burial.

At last, I would like to inform other certain facts which every Indian Youth should know. I am talking about our various National Symbols of India, viz,

National LANGUAGE - HINDI
National ANTHEM - JANA-GANA-MANA
National SONG - VANDE MATRAM
National EMBLEM - SATYAMEV JAYATE
National ANIMAL - TIGER
National BIRD - PEACOCK

National FLOWER - LOTUS
National TREE - BANYAN

The main reasoning of this article is to revolunise the Indian Youth and to create awareness among the youth. And, of course, I am promise you many more of this kind is in the pipeline….
